N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Advanced Environmental Works

Client – Cork County Council

This project on the proposed N22 involved planting of young trees & shrubs

The work was carried out in an environment of varying terrain from rock to soft ground.

The objective was to achieve a habitat for the Kerry Slug & Fresh Water Pearl Mussels

Over 200,000 plants including whips, feathered whips, transplants, feathered trees & semi-mature trees were all planted in over 60 sites spread over 16KM

20 personnel completed this project in less than the 2 months allocated

N70 Kilderry Bends Improvement Scheme

Client – Kerry County Council

Work included spraying of banks in preparation for planting

• Planting of 70,000 whips, shrubs & young trees incorporating compost & fertiliser with each
• The planting was part of a new road alignment with the planting included to provide shelter & separation from the road for neighbouring farms while creating a safe habitat for wildlife in the area
