Green Way Landscaping will construct your timber decking using materials which most suit the setting, usage and budget. We offer the traditional grooved softwood deck, hardwood timber decking including Ipe and Balau or composite timber decking which consists of a range of different shades, is low maintenance and anti-slip.
Working with all forms of timber or composite materials we are able to build bespoke decks that enhances your house and garden and will give many years of pleasure and entertainment.
From soft woods to hard woods, the perfect shapes and designs have never been easier to achieve, with the addition of lights and electrical points a deck can be used all year round. Wooden planters can also be handsomely worked into a deck design.
Some of the features we offer for timber decking:
The hardwood decking we supply is mainly Bangkarai (Balu) or Iroko. However, other types can be supplied on request. Both Bangkarai and Iroko are highly durable and have a low tendency for warping or splitting. They both also have a grooved surface and are suitable for commercial and domestic use.
Hardwood decks are commonly used on balconies, roof gardens, walkways and pedestrian bridges. Bangkarai is a light to medium brown in colour and turns to a silvery grey colour over time if not painted. Iroko has a distinct yellowish colour and will turn a yellow brown colour as it weathers if not painted. Small pinholes are a typical characteristic caused by insect impingement in the living tree.
The timber used in softwood decking boards is Spruce. It is pressure treated with an EC approved system called Tanalith E which will prevent rot for at least 15 years. It comes with a grooved or smooth surface and is pale green in colour. However, the colour will fade due to weathering if not painted. It is mainly used for domestic decking.
